DADRI adopts a culture of a) independence and impartiality, b) freedom of information (through supporting open-access policies) and transparency, and c) data protection and accountability. These three principles shape and govern our media and publishing policies in the following manner.
- We maintain impartiality and independence from all local and international parties, institutions, and agencies we collaborate with during our data research stages. We try to reflect this principle in the language and terminologies we adopt in our reports, databases, indexes, and archives. The choice of terms is based on an academic reading of the literature(s) that frame the researched issues. Any breach to this principle is taken seriously, assessed, reviewed and corrected by DADRI’s team. For any complaints or critiques regarding any content that breaches this principle, please refer to our email: contact@daftarahwal.com
- We support freedom of information, transparency, and open-access sources through sharing detailed methodology, sources, and references for each knowledge product we publish (for invalid or expired URLs found on our website, please use waybackmachine.com to access them). We also specify contributors and credit their efforts. However, it is worth noting that all contextual analysis, reporting and commentaries published on our platforms are solely those of the authors and researchers and do not necessarily reflect the views of DADRI or its partners.
Lastly, part of our belief in freedom of information and transparency was to provide alternative figures and statistics for the same issues we work on to allow users a chance to evaluate the validity and reliability of our data as well as the data they could get from other sources.
- We prioritize data protection and information privacy when it comes to personal and sensitive data that could endanger individuals’ lives or safety. This does not contradict our belief in freedom of information and transparency when it comes to non-personal data. In the same vein, we are only responsible for the data content we publish on our official platforms and not what is reported on our work through other platforms or media outlets. We also reserve the right of reply when our content is misreported or misinterpreted.
